The Observatory of Heroes
What if, amid the economic tumult, we finally listened to those who build?
Created by GENEO Capital Entrepreneur in 2025, the Observatoire des Héros highlights the contribution of Builder entrepreneurs to the economic, social and territorial transformation of France. It regularly publishes studies, barometers and portraits to shed light on the major issues facing SMEs and ETIs, and to highlight the levers for action.
Why the of Heroes of GENEO Capital ?
Because at GENEO, we believe that the solutions are already there: in the concrete choices, strong convictions and inspiring trajectories of these ETIs on the move. The Observatory sheds light on these choices, makes them visible, and maps out a roadmap for the future.
More than barometer, a compass
La Boussole doesn't measure the temperature of the economy. It captures the energy of builders, and their ability to create an ambitious, supportive and sustainable form of capitalism, rooted in local communities.
The result of a survey conducted between January and February 2025, the Compass is based on the responses of the GENEO Community, managers of invested ETIs and investors. It aims to share the best practices of companies that are succeeding in an uncertain environment, and to inspire an entrepreneurial, ambitious and responsible capitalism.
The first study signed by the Observatoire, it traces the mental map of entrepreneurs who refuse to take a wait-and-see attitude, and their key success factors.
The key lessons are unequivocal:
- 63% prefer external growth for 2025
- 50% make recruitment a priority
- 70% want a tax system that encourages long-term investment
- 40% rely on international expansion and digitalization to grow stronger
And what they say is clear: they don't expect us to help them, they want us to let them.
Visit ETI, pillars of our economy
They innovate, export, create jobs, train talent and reindustrialize our regions. Intermediate-sized companies (ETIs) are key players in French and European sovereignty and competitiveness.
With this study on ETIs, GENEO Capital Entrepreneur wanted to highlight their challenges and their proposals for the future.
The results are 13 strong recommendations for building a more competitive, sustainable and open Europe. Find out more in our study!
A number of clear, structuring lessons emerge from this first report:
- Giving ETIs a place in Europe
- Stability and competitiveness for long-term investment
- Building bridges and improving cooperation with the State
- Accelerating the energy and industrial transition
One conviction stands out: supporting ETIs means investing in our country's economic, social and environmental future.
" The Heroes embody a France ambitious, rooted in the territories, turned towards the future. Let's listen to them, support them, be inspired from them. "
