11/01/2022

THE HOPPEN GROUP, LEADER IN PHYGITAL PATIENT SUPPORT, INCREASES ITS CAPACITY TO ASSIST HEALTHCARE INSTITUTIONS AND CONSOLIDATES ITS POSITION AS FRENCH LEADER IN PATIENT SERVICES, BY ACQUIRING AKLIA, A SPECIALIST IN HOSPITAL MULTIMEDIA

In the context of an unprecedented crisis, which has highlighted the organisational challenges facing hospitals and the absolute necessity to accelerate the profound transformation of patient support during the hospitalization process, the HOPPEN Group, a member of the FT120, today announces the acquisition of AKLIA, a company specialising in the reception and comfort of patients during their hospitalization in a health care institution and a subsidiary of the Mutuelle Nationale des Hospitaliers (MNH).
This acquisition completes the e-health and patient support solutions already existing in the HOPPEN Group, which meet the challenges of the digital shift in health care brought about by health establishments that must concentrate all their human and material resources on care.
From now on, 1 in 2 French patients will be able to benefit from the HOPPEN Group's solutions and support services during their hospital stay.

Following the acquisition of Télécom Services in 2019 and Cinéolia in 2020, both recognised players in the field of multimedia and digital services for hospitalised patients, the HOPPEN Group, the French leader in phygital solutions and services for patients, has announced its 3rd acquisition in 2 years, that ofAKLIA, the 2nd largest French operator specialising in the reception and comfort of patients during their hospitalisation in a healthcare establishment. At a key time in the digital transformation of hospitals, the HOPPEN Group is continuing its growth by complementing its know-how with that ofAKLIA to offer even more services to healthcare establishments, which are seeking to develop their capacity to accompany their patients during all stages of hospitalisation.
AKLIA has 250 employees throughout France and equips around 500 public and private healthcare establishments. Médéric Monestier, Managing Director of MNH confirms: "This merger between AKLIA and HOPPEN is a real industrial project. We are proud to have worked to build this future European leader in patient support in a project that makes sense to assist healthcare institutions in their digital and organisational transformation. "
Thanks to this acquisition, nearly 2 million additional patients will be able to benefit from the services of the HOPPEN group, which means nearly 5 million patients each year: almost 1 in 2 patients.
HOPPEN now has more than 600 employees, and the group continues to recruit and attract talent despite the particular context caused by the Covid crisis.
Sébastien Duré, Managing Director and Co-Founder of Groupe HOPPENHOPPEN, says:
" We are delighted to welcome AKLIA's employees to the HOPPEN group. The perfect complementarity of our services, the experience of our teams and our presence on the ground will greatly facilitate the integration of AKLIA within HOPPEN.
Our objective today is to be able to provide these services to as many hospitals, clinics and nursing homes as possible. With the additional 40,000 rooms operated by AKLIA, we now reach 1 in 2 patients in France.

Matthieu Mallédant, CEO and Co-Founder of the HOPPEN Group said: " This acquisition is a natural fit with the Group's medium-term strategy and objectives. With the integration of AKLIA, HOPPEN expands its offer to patients and healthcare institutions in the health and medico-social sector. This confirms our desire to become a major player in patient services through an increasingly broad offer for the benefit of patients, which will enable us to support them from the moment they are informed of their hospitalisation until they return totheir homes.
The effectiveness of this extended and comprehensive patient support is based on our two pillars: committed employees who empathise with patients and digital solutions that serve patients, their carers and our employees. Thanks to this innovative phygital approach, combining the strength of our in-situ teams and our technological tools, no patient will be left behind, and especially not the elderly, because we will be there to support them.

With a turnover of over €55 million and 18% of Ebitda, HOPPEN (a 100% French digital nugget (French Tech FT120)) is the French leader in digital patient support services and is now on its way to becoming the EUROPEAN LEADER in patient support.

Christophe Boutin, Chairman of the Strategy Committeeadds:
" This is a very good step that will take us a step closer to our goal of becoming the European leader in patient support. We are convinced that digital technology greatly improves the patient experience before, during and after their stay. Institutions have understood this and in order to concentrate their resources on the recruitment of carers, they are now ready to delegate more widely this administrative management of the patient and even more so everything that can make his or her experience as pleasant as possible during these difficult moments in life.

Supported by all its shareholders, notably Extens and GENEO, the HOPPEN group is taking another step towards becoming a European champion in e-health, 100% French and already successfully exporting internationally.
" We are proud to support HOPPEN in its rapid growth to become a leading e-health player, both in France and internationally.
